PBL Multimedia Project in Class - 10 points

Putting it all Together

PBL Activity:

Students participate in a mock project-based learning activity in class:

  • 3 points for adding multimedia elements into the project
  • 3 points for team participation
  • 3 points for participating in the authentic assessment activity that completes the mock activity
  • 1 Point for a reflection post after the activity is completed.

Rubric:




1. Students will work in small groups to solve an Educational Technology problem/challenge and complete a multimedia project presentation demonstrating a possibly transformative solution(s).

(Content Challenge: Low-medium / Tech Challenge: medium-high)
    • Choose the Tool: Students can choose the type of presentation tool they would like to use based on their professional needs/preferences: Podcast, Explain Everything App, 30Hands, Story Creator App, iMovie, Google, Thinglink, Glogster, Powtoon, Prezi, Touchcast App, Telestory, Book Creator, Pixton, Storyboardthat, AdobeSpark, other ideas??
    • Identify the Challenge: Possible Challenges to consider:
      • An Individual Teacher learning to integrate technology?
      • A Student's journey as a Successful AT user?
      • An Educational team's need to Train others in the use of technology?
      • An Educational team's need to assess the AT needs of a new student?
      • A strategy to convince colleagues of the power of AT - it's not a crutch!
      • A plan to overcome obstacles to technology integration?
      • A District's plan to implement UDL?
      • A District's Plan to overcome obstacles of funding and resources?
      • Other Ideas? Pitch your challenge to your instructor.

    • Instructor will sign off on your Project Planning Form:


2. Present your Project to the class and view the other projects. Reflect on Project work as a team and provide feedback for other teams.


3. Post a Multimedia Project Reflection Discussion in Edmodo.

  • Reflect on your experiences with your project and making your multimedia activity. What are some ways you would use multimedia and project/problem based learning to reach all learners in the literacy curriculum standards? How does the electronic learning environment assist you with differentiating instruction in this imaginary classroom?
